  • Welcome to Institute of Seismological Research

    The Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) has been established by the Science and Technology Department, Government of Gujarat vide Government Resolution No. ISR-2003-687-DST dated August 27, 2003. The ISR has been registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act. The Governing Council of the Society is chaired by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Gujarat State. The ISR is unique in India being the only institute fully dedicated to Earthquake Studies.

Detailed geophysical and geological investigations to identify copper lead and zinc mineralization around Ambaji, Banaskantha district are in progress.

ISR has initiated a project on imaging the shallow subsurface of the Kachchh district for delineation of ground water aquifers and fresh water-saline water interface.
