Insurance Claims

A “certificate on earthquake occurrence” is issued to the concerned insurance company only on payment basis for settling damage claims after seeking approval of competent authority of the department.

For obtaining such a certificate, the insurance company should make a formal request to The Director General, Institute of Seismological Research, next to PDEU, Village: - Raisan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382007 after initial survey conducted by the Insurance Company as per their official procedure and also intimating the details of claimant, Policy No., Claim No., exact date & approximate time and place of damage due to the earthquake etc. Also, a certificate of undertaking in the prescribed proforma is required to be furnished by the insurance company.
